We spent 2 months in this condo and it was a great experience thanks to home owners Stacey and Jeff. The location is great and safe, it is walkable to Marina, Gaslamp, Downtown, Little Italy and easy access to public transportation to go further. Quality of kitchenware and materials at home are high quality and sufficient for a family. Stacey and Jeff are very reachable and easy to communicate. When we checked in the house was clean. For our next trip to San Diego we will definitely stay in this condo.
Pros of the apartment:
Ample space
Well-equipped kitchen (except for the broken dishwasher that was unusable during my entire stay)
Well stocked
Cons:
The Marina District is not the safest.
Mold in the toilet.
The dishwasher wasn't fixed or replaced during my stay. The owner messaged me, "you normally wash pots by hand, not in a dishwasher." Not only were the pots not cleaned, everything else wasn't either. The correspondence with the owners concerning the issue was frustrating and long (long time between replies, excuses as to why they didn't come, and eventually, they stopped replying).
According to the monthly rental agreement, I had to receive a federally approved pamphlet on lead poisoning prevention because the building was built before 1978, and it may contain lead-based paint. I don't know how pertinent this is to this specific building, but that's the information in the rental agreement.
The air conditioner is the loudest I've ever heard.
I assume if you travel alone and are a young person, the attitude possibly might be different compared to other people who might rent the apartment, considering the many positive reviews for this property. I will never come back after having to wash my dishes three times a day for a month (I cook for myself, and I informed the owner about it when I arrived).
My wife and I spent three months at this cozy apartment, and we would be happy to return if we find ourselves back in San Diego. The location is within walking distance to downtown business addresses, Little Italy, the Gaslamp District (with plenty of dining and leisure options), and a Ralph's supermarket. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen (really fully equipped, with a great set of pans, sharp knives, oven, microwave, toaster-this matters if you enjoy cooking, as I do) washer and dryer, so we felt very much at home and we didn't find it difficult to spend a lot of time in it when the Covid lockdown was mandated toward the end of our stay. Also, Stacey and Jeff are very responsive and were always available and willing to help.
My wife and I stayed in the Condo for four months. Owners did a great job in ensuring everything was in place for our stay. Unit has hardwood floors which adds to its warmth, and has all the amenities needed. Building is very quiet and safe and other residents were very friendly. Great location to walk or take the trolly anywhere. We are looking forward to returning. Woud rate this unit higher than five stars if allowed.
Wonderful condo with everything you need for short term rental. We stayed here for 5 weeks and were able to walk just about everywhere in downtown San Diego.
Stacey was so easy to work with and was a very responsive and helpful landlord. We are definitely coming back!
Very nice location near the Marina and the Gaslamp Quarter, difficult to beat. The apartment faces the internal patio and the neighborhood is quiet, so perfect for relax and for remote work. It is an “All Included” rental apartment, so you don’t have to worry about furniture or contracting services, like electricity, gas, TV, or internet. It also includes a spot in the parking garage, which was very helpful for us. Owners were easy to work with and responded quickly to any concerns we had. I would recommend this apartment to anyone in need for an apartment rental downtown San Diego.
An excellent condo in a nice, quiet building in the marina area of downtown San Diego just blocks from the Gaslamp district.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this condo for 8 months in late 2018-early 2019. The condo was clean, everything was functional and the owners are great to work with. They saw to it that my stay was comfortable in every which way. They were easy going, straightforward to deal with and were accessible whenever I had a question or needed something.
The condo is bright and airy and tastefully decorated. It faces an interior courtyard with a water fountain and lots of plants. The sound of the water was very relaxing whenever I left the doors to the balcony open. The condo itself had a nicely equipped kitchen, living/dining area, a large bedroom with a desk and printer, a huge walk-in closet, a sink area with more than adequate counter/storage space and a bathroom. Both the living room and bedroom have wall mounted flat screen TVs. The condo has high speed internet/WiFi and cable TV service. Both the heater and air conditioner worked well and kept the unit very comfortable. The reserved parking spot in the underground garage was an added bonus.
I would welcome the opportunity to rent the condo again when visiting the area and highly recommend it to any prospective tenants.
Condo is great with all the amenities, great courtyard right out the balcony with large exercise room and jacuzzi. Walkin closet, large bathtub/shower. Only blocks from Gaslamp, a block from KC BBQ and Seaport Village; a 20 minute walk to Little Italy. Reserved parking space (a little tight because it is up against a wall). Owners are easy to work with; very friendly. I will definitely look them up when I get another extended stay in San Diego.
6 Stars......what a perfect location.
My wife and I recently spent two months in the condo while on assignment in San Diego and the location and amenities were great. It is literally a 5 min walk(south) to the Marina waterfront and 5 min walk(north) to the restaurants and nightlife of the Gaslamp.
Due to our extended stay, we also enjoyed "staying home" several nights each week...the condo is modern, completely equipped, including a enormous flat screen TV.
The Ralph's supermarket is very convenient but what we enjoyed most was the large terrace(withBBQ) that faces an open garden courtyard.....truly country in the city.
Our stay was all we could hope for and we will definitely return when we're back in San Diego.
Reviews
This is a spectacular condo. Stacey and Jeff are incredibly kind and accommodating hosts. My girlfriend and I spent about two months here and we loved every minute of it. The area is super safe and fun to walk around. Being close to the water is a great perk. Every so often we would see sea lions swimming through Tuna Harbor. The condo is also really close to Ralphs, so getting groceries was a breeze. If there was ever an issue, Stacey was very responsive and would address things quickly. I could go on and on with the perks of this spot. I highly, HIGHLY recommend staying here!
