Myself and three of my friends stayed at this residence for a year while attending the Naval Postgraduate School. Susan and Bruce are very kind, helpful, and responded quickly to all of our questions throughout the time period that we stayed there. The view of the bay from the living room and kitchen is amazing. There is a lot of shopping, restaurants, and stores a short walk away from the house. The area is great for hiking, biking, and walking with amazing views. The Presidio of Monterey is ~5 minutes away and NPS is ~10 minutes away. This home is amazing, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a long or short term stay here in Monterey.
My friends and I stayed here for one year as we attended the Naval Postgraduate School. I couldn't have had a better experience for my first rental home. This home comes fully furnished which makes moving in and moving out a breeze. The decorations are in great taste. Additionally, this has the best view for a rental home. I will certainly miss overlooking the bay. Cannery row is just a short walk down from the house (plenty of shopping and restaurants). There is also a great running/biking trail along the bay that is within walking distance of the house. For those of you that are military, it is a short commute to NPS (~10 minutes). You can also use the bike trail to commute to NPS. It is also important to note how helpful the owners (Susan and Bruce) were. They are just genuinely nice people who never hesitated to help. They visited countless times to make necessary repairs. I've had a blast in Monterey and I owe a lot of that to Susan and Bruce. I highly recommend this home!
I have been coming to Monterey/Carmel 1-3 times a year for 50 years, and I am not one to leave reviews, but this home warranted the time because it is without question my favorite place to stay! We usually stayed in hotels while in the area but a few years ago a friend highly recommended this home and since I was staying for an extended period, I decided to try it. I will NEVER stay anywhere else! From the first moment I walked through the door, I felt at home. It was absolutely immaculate and the attention to detail to make their guests feel comfortable is second to none. I love getting up, making a cup of coffee or tea, and sitting in the living room or at the dining room table watching Monterey come alive, seeing the sunrise or enjoying the boats on the ocean. In the evening, you can BBQ overlooking Monterey Bay, or sit in the quiet private outdoor patio area reading a book or enjoying a glass of wine. My husband and I like to ride bicycles and there are several bike trails that you can reach directly from this location without having to transport your bikes by vehicle. If you've never ridden by the ocean here from Monterey past Pebble Beach or into Carmel, watching whales and seals along the way, you are really missing out. As mentioned in the other reviews, you are steps...literally steps... from all that makes Monterey so fabulous: restaurants galore, the Aquarium, grocery stores, seals and sea otters, bike trails and a lovely stroll down Cannery Row. I can go days without ever going near my car when I am here. Then you can come back, sink into your plush comfy bed and dream of what you will see tomorrow. In summary, I give this home my highest recommendation. May you treasure your time here as much as my family and I do!
This is a great place, great location, great view. My wife and I stayed here for 3 months (Jan-March 2018) while I worked as a locum tenens physician in the area. You wake up every morning to a view of Monterey Bay, often a stunning sunrise but even the foggy mornings are delightful. The multiple bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are perfect for visitors, we had friends and family in town most weekends. There are too many excellent restaurants to count, all within a short walk or easy drive. The Aquarium and Cannery Row are just a few blocks down the hill. The stunning walking/biking trail along the Monterey Peninsula is a joy every day, we usually saw sea lions and sea otters on our walks and even an occasional whale from the shore! The state and national parks nearby give easy access to nature and Pacific Grove, Carmel and Pebble Beach are next door or just over the hill for further enjoyment. Susan, the owner, and her husband were very helpful and welcoming. The bedding was extremely comfortable and the furnishings were very thoughtfully done. We would certainly recommend this home to friends and family and actually hope to be back here for another stay in 2019.
You know that your stay will be memorable from the moment you pull up in front of the building. This is not your standard, cookie-cutter accommodation. There is an air of history about it. As you climb the stairs, to your right the view of the entire Monterey Bay and surroundings slowly come into view. Located in a quiet neighborhood, the building sits nestled in other homes which once housed the fishermen and cannery workers of the past.
Entering the front room, youāre greeted by a bright and comfortable room with all the amenities, including a fireplace with very unique stonework and a large screen TV, although it didnāt get much use due to the fantastic view. To the left of the front room is the dining area, perfectly placed so that you can enjoy the view while eating. The kitchen is separated from the dining area by a counter, allowing conversations to take place while meals are prepared. The kitchen is complete with all appliances and accessories needed to prepare virtually any meal, and is very well lit by both the window over the sink and the huge bay window looking out at the bay. Both bathrooms are very bright and cheerful, with all the necessities. Each bedroom is decorated tastefully, and the beds themselves are very comfortable. Their is a laundry room, also completely outfitted, to the right as you step out the back door. The raised patio, complete with barbecue, offers a great view and is the perfect place to both work and relax. I could go on but the bottom line is that you canāt go wrong with this location and these clean and comfortable accommodations. Did I mention the view?
I have spent 3 vacations in this beautiful home. It is fully furnished with everything you can possibly think of down to the little tiny lotions and soaps. The bedrooms are nicely furnished with no corners cut on the bedding or the beds. All are very comfortable. There are spectacular views from the living room, dining room and kitchen windows. The backyard patio area has amazing views of the bay anytime of day whether sunrise or sunset and is great for relaxing alone or with friends. At night the bay is tranquil and you can hear the sea lions from the aquarium. I love the convenience to the Aquarium and the trail. On several occasions I ran from the house to the trail (4-5 blocks) and followed it along the coastline toward Pacific Grove and have seen whales while running. I highly recommend this home.
Honestly, this is one of the best properties Iāve ever stayed at, and I travel nationally and overseas for both work and pleasure. Picture spending mornings drinking coffee outdoors on your private patio overlooking Monterey Bay, and spending late afternoons and evenings grilling dinner and enjoying friends and family while watching the lights across the bay as night falls. The views are fabulous as is the location ā 4 blocks from everywhere ā the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the beach, an entrance to the bike and walking trail along the coast, and restaurants and retail outlets lining Cannery Row. And itās hard to beat Monterey weather any time of year. The property isnāt your standard cookie cutter subdivision home ā itās unique and interesting while also homey and comfortable, providing gathering areas for your guests or spots where one can get away and be alone. Iāve stayed at the property twice and continue to look for opportunities to stay again soon!

My family and I stayed in the most beautiful beach house at 775 Archer Street in Monterey CA! We came here for my 13 week travel nurse assignment and stayed 26 weeks. Susan, the owner, is the most gracious, sweetest person we could have ever asked for. Her 4 bedroom 2 bathroom beach house was not only fully furnished with all supplies you would need, but she continued to provide us items with and without discussion. We would love to return as the ocean view from the front of the house is simply breathtaking!
