Overview
A beautiful, historic home in the Algiers Point neighborhood located directly across the Mississippi River from the French Quarter and CBD, both of which are easily accessible via a short walk/bike ride through the neighborhood and a quick ferry ride across the river. Algiers Point is the second oldest neighborhood in New Orleans, and our home is within easy walking distance of several neighborhood restaurants and bars, as well as a local grocery store.
Please note that this is 1/2 of a double, and the other half is used by the owners as their full time residence. Renters should be comfortable with a shotgun layout. We do require a 30-day or longer minimum stay.
A beautiful, comfortable, fully furnished home, newly renovated and painted, featuring the following:
Four large rooms with high ceilings, ceiling fans, and central ac/heat: Living room and dining area, followed by two bedrooms, each with its own closet (a real bonus in these old New Orleans homes)
Spacious kitchen with breakfast table for two, ample cabinets and counters, refrigerator, dishwasher, gas range/oven, newly installed kitchen hood, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker
Full bath with refinished antique clawfoot tub and plenty of storage space
Laundry room with washer and dryer
Large shared backyard with deck, a great place to hang out in the shade
Friendly neighbors and a quiet neighborhood
Roku TVs in the living room and master bedroom, WiFi throughout the house

My husband, myself and our 5 year old daughter were guests at this super clean, charming new renovation for 4 months and had the most wonderful stay! The house has everything you need and if you happen to still need something Eric is amazing and super fast to help: from spices for cooking (he's a chef, awesome) to an umbrella and his wonderful wife Kate even went so far as to BUY us a Christmas tree (including lights and ornaments- our 5 year old was over the moon, SO kind)!! They also brought over wine, not one but 2 bottles in the wine fridge they had waiting when we checked in. They have laundry detergent already in the house for you which makes life super convenient and hand soaps, dish washer tabs,, all those kinds of details that we really appreciated. Eric and Kate were the most gracious hosts we've ever experienced. We would definitely go back. The neighborhood is amazing as well. You can walk to several local restaurants and the Old Point Bar to check out a Saints game or live music. The ferry is a fun easy and affordable way ($2 each way) to hop over to the French Quarter or elsewhere across the river.
We can't say enough about this property or its' hosts!
